MONROVIA, Aug. 21 (LINA) – The President of the Free Liberia Movement, Rev. Toli H. Krua, has expressed optimism that Liberia will be granted visa-free access to the United States of America in the near future.
Addressing a cross section of Liberians in the U.S. recently, Rev. Krua said the U.S.-based organization is currently making efforts to have Liberia included among countries whose citizens enjoy visa-free travel to the U.S.
According to him, the movement took a major step in 2025 when it submitted a bill to the U.S. Congress titled: “The American Unity and Reconciliation Act.”
He explained that the legislation is part of a broader campaign to secure the opportunity for Liberians to travel to the United States without visa restrictions.
The Free Liberia Movement founder and vision bearer called on Liberians based in the United States and other parts of the world including those back home to join hands with the movement in advancing the bill.
He indicated that if the bill is accepted by Congress, it will greatly benefit the motherland by strengthening the already existing ties between Liberia and the U.S., and creating new opportunities for trade, education, and cultural exchange among others.
“The passage of this bill will be historic for Liberia. It will open doors for our people and deepen the special relationship that has existed between Liberia and America for decades,” Rev Krua stated.
The founder of the U.S.-based organization further said the Free Liberia Movement will continue working closely with members of the U.S. Congress and civil society organizations both in the U.S., Liberia and world by extension to achieve the goal.
He emphasized that advocacy, lobbying, and national unity will be key to convincing U.S. lawmakers to support the initiative.
The Free Liberia Movement is a diaspora organization focused on promoting Liberia’s interests in the United States through policy advocacy, community engagement, and reconciliation efforts.
