MONROVIA, Oct. 21 (LINA)—The Speaker of the House of Representatives Richard Nagbe Koon has urged Liberian girls and young women to pursue their ambitions with confidence, emphasizing that no one should determine the limits of their dreams.
In a message delivered at the “She Is the Way” girls’ mentorship program in Monrovia on Friday, October 16, Koon encouraged young women to believe in their abilities, continue learning, and prepare themselves for leadership.
“Your voice matters. Your dreams are valid, and your possibilities are limitless,” he said.
He challenged the girls not to allow family members, friends, or societal expectations to discourage them from pursuing their goals.
“Never let anyone, not your husband, not your father, not your brother, not your friends, define the boundaries of your ambition,” Koon said.
The Speaker encouraged participants to remain committed to their education and personal development while preparing to become future leaders in their respective fields.
“Keep learning. Dream big. Step boldly into the leader you intend to be,” he urged.
Koon also commended the organizers, supporters, and participants for contributing to the success of the mentorship program, expressing confidence that the gathering would continue to inspire girls and young women.
He said initiatives such as “She Is the Way” provide an important platform for encouraging girls to recognize their potential and pursue opportunities that can advance their personal and professional development.
The “She Is the Way” program, sponsored by the MacDella Cooper Foundation, focuses on empowering girls and young women through mentorship and opportunities to learn from accomplished women.
