MONROVIA, Aug. 14 (LINA) – The President of the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY), Ernest D. Jallah is urging the Government of Liberia to increase youth participation in the decision-making processes of the country.

Speaking Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at the celebration of International Youth Day at the Monrovia City Hall Jallah emphasized the importance of creating meaningful opportunities for young people to engage policymakers and contribute to national development.

He stated that young Liberians should not only be considered beneficiaries of government programs but must be given opportunities to actively participate in shaping policies and decisions that affect their future.

According to him, constructive dialogue between young people and government is essential to addressing challenges confronting the youth population, including unemployment, education, skills development, and limited economic opportunities

President Jallah urged the young people participating in the dialogue to use the platform responsibly by presenting practical recommendations and engaging government officials on issues affecting their communities.

The FLY president also stressed the need for stronger collaboration among youth organizations, government institutions, civil society, and development partners to advance the interests of young Liberians.

President Jallah expressed hope that the discussions would produce concrete recommendations and contribute to policies and programs that respond to the aspirations of Liberia’s youthful population.

The National Youth Government Dialogue brought together young people and stakeholders to discuss youth participation in governance and identify ways to strengthen government-youth engagement.
