MONROVIA, Oct. 16 (LINA)-The Government of Liberia and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has moved to Validate Financing Plan for US$8.38 Billion Development Agenda.

Opening the session, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Louis Kuukpen said Liberia must match its development ambitions with available resources amid tight fiscal space and a difficult global financing climate.

He congratulated Liberia for surpassing US$1 billion in domestic revenue collection in September 2026, noting that the next step is to turn revenue growth into quality public services, productive investments and jobs.

The program was held from October 13-15, 2026, to validate Liberia’s Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF), designed to mobilize resources for the country’s US$8.38 billion development plan from 2025 to 2029.

Representing Finance Minister Augustine K. Ngafuan, Acting Assistant Minister for Economic Policy Amadu V.S. Kpahn urged participants to thoroughly review the draft reports and provide practical recommendations for effective implementation.

The workshop is expected to deliver an evidence-based financing roadmap to boost domestic resource mobilization, attract private sector investment and better align public spending with national priorities.

The INFF helps countries coordinate public and private financing to achieve sustainable development goals.

The outcome will shape Liberia’s National Financing Strategy, highlighting funding gaps and opportunities to raise domestic revenue, aid, private investment and diaspora contributions to support the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development and the Sustainable Development Goals.
