LINA, Indian News Agency Set To Establish Bilateral Cooperation

MONROVIA, June 17 (LINA) – The Office of the Indian Ambassador accredited near Monrovia in collaboration with the office of the Director of the Liberia News Agency (LINA) and the Ministry of Information are set to launch a major cooperative agreement that seeks to benefit several employees at the institution.

The cooperation will create space that will directly give training and study opportunities to employees at the institution. 

Speaking during a day-long working visit at the Ministry of Information on Wednesday June 10, 2026, the Indian Ambassador to Liberia Manoj Bihari Verna urged the Liberia News Agency Director Mr. A. Trokon Tarr, to work directly with him in establishing cooperation that will help provide the opportunity between his office and the Agency.

Amb. Verma stated that the cooperation will open an avenue for close collaboration between the Liberia News Agency and the Major Indian News Agency or the United News of India, in sharing opportunities including media cooperation.

According to Amb. Verma, the agreement will establish cooperation between the two institutions and further give LINA workers the opportunity to cooperate with the United News of India (UNI) or the Major Indian News Agency.

Amb. Verma who made a stop at the institution on June 10, 2026 explained that he was impressed with the level of development at the Ministry and however, explained he may have the interest in working to strengthen the working capacity of the entity.

The Liberia News Agency is a government institution working as the central new collection Agency for the government of the Republic of Liberia. It was founded in 1979.

Since its establishment, the Agency has worked as an entity that promotes government development and publishes human interest stories from across the country.
