MONROVIA, Oct. 24 (LINA) –The Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA) has made a compelling pitch to global investors, positioning Liberia as one of Africa’s most attractive and competitive investment destinations.
The Authority made the case during the 7th Prosperity Africa Conference currently underway at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (EJS) Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Monrovia.
Representing LSEZA on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, its Director of Regulations and Legal Affairs, Atty. Ebenezer Wilson, told international investors, business leaders and policymakers that Liberia’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ) framework is a powerful engine for industrial transformation, job creation, export growth and national competitiveness.
Atty. Wilson explained that the SEZ regime was deliberately designed to de-risk investment and make doing business in Liberia easier, faster and more profitable.
According to him, companies operating within Liberia’s SEZs stand to benefit from a robust package of incentives including competitive tax holidays and breaks, duty-free importation of machinery and raw materials, streamlined business registration, abundant and youthful labor, vast land for industrial and agro-processing activities, and a dedicated one-stop-shop administrative support system.
“Liberia’s Special Economic Zones are not just industrial parks – they are gateways to prosperity, innovation and inclusive growth,” Wilson told delegates.
The LSEZA Official emphasized that they are offering investors stability, profitability and partnership.
He noted that the zones are strategically located to support key growth sectors such as agro-processing, manufacturing, light industry, logistics, energy and value-added export.
Held under the theme “Bridge by Prosperity” this year’s summit has brought together hundreds of participants including international and regional investors, policymakers, corporate executives, financial institutions, trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce to foster business linkages and accelerate regional economic integration.
Beyond the main stage presentation, LSEZA is also engaging investors directly through a dedicated exhibition booth on the conference floor. At the booth, prospective investors are being provided with detailed guidance on registration procedures, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, land acquisition processes, licensing requirements and operational guidelines for setting up within the designated zones.
LSEZA officials said the face-to-face engagement is crucial to building investor confidence and showcasing how economic zones can drive industrial innovation, promote local value addition, expand trade and create sustainable jobs for Liberians.
The Prosperity Africa Conference, organized every two years by the Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) in collaboration with the Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC), is considered one of the continent’s premier business gatherings.
The platform connects Africa’s private sector with global capital and seeks to unlock the continent’s trade and investment potential under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA) is the statutory government body mandated to regulate, develop and promote Special Economic Zones across the country with the objective of boosting foreign direct investment, spurring manufacturing, increasing exports and generating long-term employment for Liberians.
