MONROVIA, Nov. 11 (LINA) – In a bid to reduce road accidents and promote traffic safety, the Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the National Road Funds, has launched a series of Electronic Road Safety Billboards in Monrovia and its surroundings.
The initiative, which aims to raise public awareness about road safety, was officially launched at the Executive Mansion entrance.
The event, themed: “Safe Roads, Save Lives,” was attended by key government officials, including Minister of Transport Sirleaf Tyler and Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Samuel Stevquoah.
Minister Tyler in a brief remark, highlighted the alarming rate of road fatalities in Liberia, citing statistics from global research institutions.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a safe environment for all road users and promoting responsible driving behavior.
The launch of the 12 electronic billboards marks a significant milestone in Liberia’s road safety campaign.
The digital billboards will display crucial safety messages, serving as a constant reminder to drivers and pedestrians alike.
Minister Stevquoah, who officially launched the project on behalf of President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr. urged the public to take full advantage of the digital billboards and make road safety a top priority.
The “Safe Roads, Save Lives” campaign is a testament to the government’s commitment to protecting the lives of its citizens.
With the launch of the electronic billboards, Liberia takes a major step towards reducing road accidents and promoting a culture of safety on its roads.
