MONROVIA, June 28 (LINA) – The Chairman of the ruling Unity Party (UP), Rev. Luther Tarpeh, has called for a mass reshuffle in the Executive, targeting government’s officials who are not up to the task to be replaced.
According to him, when people are given opportunities to serve in government, it is for them to deliver, which, he thinks, there are lots of officials who are ‘underperforming’.
In an interview Wednesday, June 24, 2026, on State radio, Rev. Tarpeh, though declined to name those ministries and agencies that are underperforming, he, however, cited that serving in the government requires proficiency and deliberate action to address the plights of the people.
“I support a total reshuffle. There are some officials who I am not going to name that are not performing,” the UP Chairman noted. “So, those who are not performing should be put on the bench and new people be brought in.”
He said the government has gone three years, and there should not be any more delay in delivering for the people. Tarpeh added that the UP-led government is deliberate to deliver and will not allow people to slow down the progress of the government.
Tarpeh disclosed that he will personally reach out to the President for the reshuffle as it is in the best interest of the government. He said there are good players currently on the bench and should be given an opportunity to serve.
Meanwhile, the Party Chairman appealed to partisans of the Unity Party to be patient, and that their time will come for employment opportunities. Tarpeh noted that the government is exerting all efforts to create opportunities for every Liberian.
He expressed that the government cannot absorb everyone at the same time, stating that opportunities are going to be created gradually – something he said the government is keen to solve.
