MONROVIA, June 9 (LINA) – The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) is pushing ahead with efforts to modernize revenue administration and enhance data-driven decision-making through a weeklong strategic retreat hosted by its Enterprise Data Analytics Division (EDAD) in Ganta, Nimba County.

According to a release dated May 26, 2026, EDAD is spearheading the retreat as part of its key mandate to drive digital transformation within the LRA.

The gathering brings together EDAD staff and key collaborating partners to review departmental progress, evaluate ongoing analytics and automation projects, and align daily operations with the LRA’s wider modernization and institutional reform goals.

The statement noted that this initiative falls under the LRA’s broader digital transformation strategy, which seeks to modernize revenue administration using advanced technology, integrated systems, and intelligent data management. The reforms are designed to boost compliance monitoring, improve revenue tracking, increase transparency and accountability, and deliver faster, more efficient taxpayer services across Liberia.

Speaking at the event, Assistant Commissioner of the Enterprise Data Analytics Division, Jupar N. Dunbar, said the retreat aims to build analytical capacity, improve collaboration, encourage innovation, and expand the use of technology and data intelligence to support efficient and transparent revenue administration nationwide.

Mr. Dunbar stressed that data analytics, automation, and integrated systems are increasingly critical to transforming tax administration and improving institutional performance.

“Modern revenue administration relies heavily on data intelligence, automation, and integrated systems. Strengthening our analytical capacity is vital to improving compliance monitoring, operational efficiency, and evidence-based decision-making across the Authority,” he stated.

He also highlighted EDAD’s role in supporting institutional integration, strengthening data governance, improving reporting systems, and providing analytical support for operational and policy decisions within the LRA.

The retreat gives participants a chance to enhance knowledge sharing, improve coordination, tackle operational challenges, and identify innovative solutions to boost organizational performance and service delivery.

Discussions are centered on automation, analytics-based management, innovation, digital reporting systems, and data governance—all aimed at improving institutional efficiency and strengthening evidence-based operational planning.

The LRA believes that stronger analytics systems and deeper digital integration will improve service delivery, build taxpayer confidence, safeguard government revenues, and support Liberia’s long-term economic growth and governance reforms.
