The Ministry of Education (MOE) has completed a two-day training for 56 Monitoring and Evaluation Interns from Montserrado and Margibi Counties ahead of their deployment for a six-month school monitoring exercise.
The training prepared the interns for fieldwork, with the second day focusing on the practical use of digital tablets and a data collection application to record and submit information during school visits.
Following the training, the interns will be assigned to their respective education districts, where they will work under the supervision of the Ministry’s Monitoring and Evaluation Officers.
Their responsibilities will include monitoring schools and collecting reliable data to help the Ministry assess school conditions, strengthen planning, and support decision-making in the education sector.
At the close of the training, the interns expressed appreciation to the Ministry for the opportunity and pledged to perform their duties diligently.
They also encouraged the Ministry to continue creating opportunities for young people to contribute to the development of Liberia’s education sector.
The six-month School Monitoring Exercise forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen school-level monitoring, improve the quality of education data, and ensure that decisions are informed by conditions in schools across Liberia.
