Morocco Delivers Military Supplies To Liberia, As 140 AFL Soldiers Prepare for Commando Training

MONROVIA, Oct. 20(LINA)–A Moroccan military cargo aircraft has arrived in Liberia carrying vehicles and supplies for the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), as approximately 140 Liberian soldiers prepare to travel to Morocco for specialized commando training.

The C-130 aircraft landed at the Roberts International Airport on Monday, October 19, 2026, marking the first of two scheduled flights expected to deliver military equipment and supplies to Liberia between October 19 and 22.

According to a release from the Moroccan Embassy near Monrovia dated October 19, 2026, the aircraft is also expected to transport the Liberian soldiers to Morocco on their return flight.

The military operation forms part of ongoing bilateral cooperation between Liberia and Morocco following the signing of a military cooperation agreement in October 2025.

The agreement seeks to strengthen collaboration in military training, technical assistance, and healthcare cooperation.

The partnership gained further momentum during a visit to Morocco in September 2026 by AFL Chief of Staff Davidson Fayiah Forleh.

The visit resulted in the signing of a memorandum of understanding focused on providing support and building the capacity of the Liberian military.

The planned commando training is expected to enhance the operational capabilities and professional skills of the participating AFL personnel, while the delivery of military equipment is intended to support the Armed Forces’ operational requirements.

The latest development underscores the growing military partnership between Liberia and Morocco, with both countries pursuing closer cooperation in defense, training, and institutional capacity-building.
