MONROVIA, Oct. 18 (LINA) – The Executive Director of the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC), Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu, has emphasized the need to strengthen migration management in Liberia to improve coordination, protect vulnerable migrants, and promote safe and orderly migration.

Director Bangalu said the initiative is expected to help address migration-related challenges, including the protection of migrants’ rights, the reintegration of returnees, and improved coordination among institutions responsible for migration management.

He made the statement Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinions (CEIO) on Carey Street in central Monrovia.

According to him, effective migration management requires collaboration among government agencies, international partners, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to develop coordinated responses to migration-related challenges.

Director Bangalu noted that strengthening migration management also requires improved institutional capacity, effective policies, and adequate support for people affected by displacement and cross-border movements.

He said the commission would continue working with relevant partners to promote the protection of migrants and support sustainable reintegration programs for Liberians returning from abroad.

The LRRRC Executive Director further underscored the importance of public awareness, reliable data collection, and cooperation among relevant institutions to ensure that migration is managed in a safe, orderly, and responsible manner.

“The LRRRC remains a key institution in Liberia’s refugee repatriation and resettlement efforts, particularly in coordinating activities involving refugees, returnees, and displaced populations,” Director Bangalu stated.
