MONROVIA, Aug. 9 (LINA) – The Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS) under the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs has strengthened the capacity of focal persons through a one-day training workshop.
The workshop, which was held Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at a local hotel in Monrovia, is intended to strengthen the PMCS system across the country.
According to the Implementation Coordinator of PMCS, Atty. Jamaima Kollie Harris, the training has been designed to improve performance coordination, monitoring, reporting, and implementation across government institutions.
Atty. Harris stated that focal persons are essential to the effective implementation of government’s PMCS, noting that building the knowledge of focus persons and skills will improve coordination, accountability, and timely reporting, ultimately contributing to better performance outcomes.
She pointed out that the workshop covered key areas including project planning, monitoring and evaluation, performance reporting, stakeholder engagement, and best practices in project implementation.
Atty. Harris explained that participants also engaged in interactive discussions and practical exercises that enabled them to share experiences and identify solutions to common challenges encountered in their work.
According to her, the capacity-building initiative forms part of PMCS’s ongoing commitment to enhancing institutional performance, promoting accountability, and ensuring the efficient implementation of national development projects.
She asserted that through regular training and technical support, the PMCS continues to empower public sector institutions to deliver quality services and achieve sustainable development goals.
Meanwhile, participants welcomed the initiative, describing the training as timely and valuable.
They expressed appreciation to PMCS for investing in their professional development and pledged to apply the knowledge and skills gained to strengthen PMCS implementation within their respective institutions.
The workshop brought together focal persons from various government ministries, agencies and commissions to enhance their understanding of PMCS principles and their roles in ensuring successful delivery of development initiatives.
