MONROVIA June 3 (LINA) – Chief Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay Sr., has officially broken grounds in Nimba and Bong Counties for the construction of five new courts marking a significant move towards improving the judicial system in Liberia.

Joined by key court officials and community leaders at the ceremony held over the weekend, Justice Gbeisay emphasized the importance of establishing magisterial courts to ensure that residents have better access to legal services.

His visit revealed overwhelming support from local residents who are eager for a system that promises justice and accountability.

The Chief Justice’s commitment to strengthening the judiciary was evident as he announced plans for the construction of five new courts, a move he said reflects the seriousness of his administration in delivering justice to underserved communities.

During his remarks at the ceremony, Gbeisay issued a strong warning to Magistrates regarding exploitative practices, particularly concerning the collection of Bond Fees.

He warned that any attempt to take advantage of residents in this regard would not be tolerated, with severe consequences for those found in violation of ethical standards.

This bold stance aims to restore public trust and integrity within the judiciary, as he reassures citizens that their rights will be protected.

Through these initiatives, Chief Justice Gbeisay is not just building infrastructure; he is laying the groundwork for a reformed judicial system that prioritizes the needs of the people it serves.

As communities in Nimba and Bong Counties look forward to the establishment of their new courts, there is a renewed hope for a more equitable and transparent legal process.
