MONROVIA, July 3 (LINA) – Montserrado County Senator Darius Dillon has expressed concern over what he described as the prolonged silence surrounding the ongoing investigation into the seizure of cocaine reportedly valued at more than US$19 million.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Senator Dillon said the lack of public updates from the Joint Security since June 9 has raised questions about the progress of the investigation.
According to the senator, the continued absence of official information has become increasingly troubling, noting that the public has yet to hear of any arrests, charges, or identified suspects in connection with the case.
“It has been over a week since the public received any update regarding the investigation,” Dillon stated. “The silence is becoming difficult to understand and is beginning to erode public confidence in the seriousness and credibility of the investigation.”
The Montserrado lawmaker stressed that transparency and regular communication are essential in a case of such national importance, urging the Joint Security to keep the public informed about developments.
He called on the security authorities to provide an update this week, emphasizing that the investigation should be conducted without fear or favor and that those found responsible should be held accountable under the law.
The Joint Security has not yet publicly responded to Senator Dillon’s concerns or issued any new statement regarding the status of the investigation.
